Overture Drifter
Auto-parry on base attacks. Timeless wave 20, no deaths.
Drifter is the katana class people unlock as a dare and then refuse to take off. In HOURS it was the no-hit echo of Ronin Alpha, true name The Neorch, auto-parry and all. In Overture the Tempos are gone, stamina and regen are in, and the kit has already been reworked at least once. The fantasy is the same: you are fast, you answer steel with steel, and you look like a noob with a sword until the boss’s base string dies on your parry.
The community unlock is not on the Roblox badge strip. Players treat Timeless wave 20 with no deaths as the gate. Official badges still sit on Redcliff, Vestige / Subject, and Epikninja. If you want the tracker view, use unlock classes and the class unlock tool. If you want the kit, stay here.
Read this page next to Invader, Bloxxer, Vestige, Redcliff, the classes hub, and the class tier list. Drifter is high for raid bosses. Drifter is also the class that will spend a parry on a slap you could have walked around.
Auto-parry: the blessing people call a curse
Community theory, repeated in solo videos and comments, is roughly this:
- Auto-parry answers direct / base attacks.
- Auto-parry does not answer ranged or area attacks.
- A common extra claim is about 30% stun reduction. Treat that as theory, not a loading-screen stat.
On Cazerdus, testers say auto-parry covers the red shuriken throw and the base attack, and fails on the rest of the kit. On Erlking, it covers base attacks and fails on ranged hits, the red slash, and the rest of the scary list. If you walk into either raid thinking ‘Drifter parries the fight,’ you will spend the real charges on the tutorial hits and then eat coffin or a lunge with nothing left.
That is why some players call auto-parry a curse. The system is greedy. It would rather look stylish on a jab than save you for the move that actually ends the run. Manual spacing still matters. Slide still matters. The dash people complain about on this kit is a distance tool with no i-frames in community testing; it is not a get-out-of-phase button.
Ping makes the curse worse. A late auto-parry on a base hit you did not need is a wasted resource. A late auto-parry on a base hit you did need is a death. Overture already feels tighter than HOURS for a lot of players. Drifter is the class where you notice.
Kit shape after the rework
We are not publishing a fake cooldown sheet. Video solos still show a fast melee host with:
- A katana string that wants you in range.
- Parry as the identity, automatic on the attacks listed above.
- A slide / low profile for the swings that would otherwise clip your head.
- Throw and area sword tricks in the HOURS kit that still read as disruption tools when adds or dummy-like pressure show up.
The rework is why you should watch a current solo rather than a HOURS Tempo guide. Halt is not here. Your budget is stamina. If you slide, dash, and swing on cooldown, the parry you wanted for the next base string is already gone because you had nothing in the tank to stay in the stance that makes auto-parry useful.
Why it ranks high on bosses
Bloxxer carries public lobbies with stun. Redcliff clashes Erlking on purpose. Drifter is the soloist’s answer: you can stand in the base string, you are fast enough to leave the AoE, and you do not need a Tempo to make the math work. That is why it sits next to those two on first-clear ease and solo viability for the September 2026 beta, not because it is a gacha unit.
Erlking. Three phases, counters, coffin, requiem. Auto-parry will eat the jabs. You still have to play the rest of the fight like a person. Clash is Redcliff’s toy. Drifter’s toy is not dying to the boring hits so you have a brain left for the interesting ones. The video on this page is a Drifter solo into both raid bosses; use it as a routing picture, not as proof that ranged slashes bounce.
Cazerdus. Same story with different telegraphs. If the red shuriken is a parry and the lunge is not, your whole job is knowing which animation you are looking at. Badge hunters who want Epikninja can bring Drifter as a solo or as the person who does not feed the first wipe. Bloxxer is still the easier public-lobby lock.
HOURS mode. You will fight a Drifter-shaped boss. Playing Drifter into that mirror is a flex. Invader is still the campaign comfort pick. Use HOURS mode to practice stamina without 24 other people.
Timeless. This is the unlock dungeon. Wave 20 no-death is a stamina-and-focus test, not a DPS check. If you already have Drifter from the donation menu, running Timeless anyway is how you learn the kit you skipped. If you do not have it, this is the homework. A hidden-boss comment exists in community walkthroughs; do not invent a strategy for a fight you have not seen.
Donation menu versus earning it
The donation cheat menu can force Drifter, Redcliff, Vestige, exclusive ClassDen (Erlking; actual boss spawn around 6000 HP), and ClassCaz. Forcing Drifter skips wave 20. It does not skip learning which attacks are base. Rankings on this wiki do not move because you opened a menu. Scripts is the wrong hub for this class; there is nothing to inject that will aim your parry.
Practice that respects the curse
- In an empty lobby, swing at a friend or a dummy until you can feel the auto-parry spend a charge on a hit you could have sidestepped. That feeling is the lesson.
- Run Timeless until wave 20 no-death is a plan, not a prayer. Getting started and controls if the buttons are still fuzzy.
- One Cazerdus where you only auto-parry the red shuriken and the jab, and you treat everything else as a leave-the-tile problem.
- One Erlking where you do not pretend to be Redcliff. Clash is their job. Yours is not wasting parry.
- Check boss rankings if you are picking a fight to learn, and updates if a patch notes another Drifter rework.
Codes will not add parry charges. Official links is the Roblox place. Drifter stays on the featured row because the kit is honest: it is strong against the hits it was built to answer, and it will punish you for believing that is the whole boss.
Frequently Asked Questions
Codes, class unlocks, modes, and raid questions in short form.
How do I unlock Drifter in Overture?
Community consensus is Timeless wave 20 with no deaths. It is not an official raid badge. The donation menu can force the class. See unlock classes for the badge list.
What does Drifter auto-parry actually block?
Direct and base attacks. Not ranged, not AoE. On Cazerdus that means red shuriken and the jab. On Erlking that means base hits, not red slash or the rest. Details stay on this page and on beat Erlking.
Is auto-parry a downside?
It can be. It spends charges on easy hits, so a real threat arrives with an empty parry. Play Drifter like a spacing class that happens to auto-answer jabs, not like a god mode.
Is Drifter better than Bloxxer?
For clean solos, often. For messy 25-player first clears, Bloxxer still carries harder. Both sit high on the class tier list. Redcliff is the clash specialist.
Did Drifter get reworked?
Yes, at least once. Watch a current Overture solo, not a HOURS Tempo guide. Updates is where the next kit change would land.
Does the 30% stun reduction actually exist?
It is community theory, not an official tooltip. Play like stun is shorter, verify it yourself, and do not build a whole Cazerdus plan on a number the game never shows.
